The file is obtained during the main story mission Finnish Tango after being directed to find Ahti and interacting with the painting in the Janitor's Office.

- After completing all three janitorial side missions in the AWE expansion, Jesse Faden is rewarded with the Ahti Postcard Collectible, which uses the same image and implies Ahti's cabin is in the town of Watery, Washington.
- In Alan Wake 2, the Sauna in Watery appears similarly to the location shown in the image.
- A darkened version of this image is used in Alan Wake 2.
- "Lomille lomps" is an idiom originating from Finnish military slang which does not have a direct English equivalent; its closest meaning is a way of ordering conscripts to their weekend leave, or to give well-wishes at the beginning of holidays. Kossu is a Finnish word referring to a vodka called Koskenkorva.
