Enemies come in various forms and sizes. These can be FBC Rangers or other personnel corrupted by the Hiss, hosts infected by the Mold, and even Objects of Power corrupted by the Hiss. Some enemies are shielded in a similar manner as Jesse's Ability of the same name. They also use various weapon types, such as rifles, shotguns, and explosives, and some types can use various paranatural abilities. Each enemy has a certain level which is displayed above their health bar. A plus sign near their health bar indicates that a Hiss Cluster is nearby restoring their health.

Achievements and trophies[]
Many achievements and trophies in Control are related to enemies, most often Hiss enemies specifically, and several of the bosses. Usually these achievements are unlocked based on number of kills made and/or the method of killing. See the respective boss articles, this section on the Hiss, and the various Abilities for more achievements and trophies. The ones listed here are only available in the game's expansions or the Ultimate Edition.
