Hiss Agents are a type of Hiss-corrupted personnel and are one of the enemy types in Control.
Overview[]
Hiss Agents are the most common type of former Bureau personnel who have been corrupted by the Hiss. They are the only Hiss-corrupted to keep their human physical appearances, though they noticeably levitate at variable heights depending on the scale of the room they are in. Hiss Agents do not attack, nor do they react to anything around them. They simply float and chant the Hiss incantation. If they are attacked, they simply disappear.
Hiss Agents are encountered throughout the inhabited areas of the Oldest House. During the first main story mission, Welcome to the Oldest House, Jesse Faden is asked to attempt to cleanse a Hiss Agent in Central Executive; she is unsuccessful, noting that the Hiss have "burrowed in too deep" and attempting to remove it "rips [the agents] apart."

The Hiss Agents have maintained their human appearance, undergoing no obvious physical transformation. The most notable distinction from an unaffected human is the fact that they levitate. These Hiss have displayed no aggressive behavior. They only seem interested in vocalizing the strange incantation ad infinitum. Perhaps these vessels are only meant to propagate the Hiss corruption, like spores or wi-fi boosters. Or are they cocoons, preparing to enter their next stage of evolution?
