L. Samson was an employee and field agent of the Federal Bureau of Control.
Biography[]
Background[]
Samson was part of the Bureau Book Bunch (a book club that meet weekly in the cafeteria) and read and wrote a review of the book "Unless You" to give to Penny Bartwell for the club's next meeting. He perceived the book as a science-fiction space opera, and did not enjoy the overuse of the title as a catchphrase, but loved the various action and battles supposedly described in the book. However, he gave the book a 2/5 review due to his favorite character dying less than halfway into the book by "getting a battery cylinder launched into his face by a gravitational anomaly."[1]
Events of Control[]
Ironically, Samson died the same way during the Hiss invasion on October 29, 2019, being struck by a mail cylinder launched into his face by the Floppy Disk Object of Power (which occurs, in a meta sense, less than halfway through the story of Control.)[2] His fellow book club members also suffered fates identical to what they described reading in "Unless You".
