Behind the scenes[]
The Old Gods of Asgard are portrayed by the real-life Finnish rock band Poets of the Fall, who write and perform the songs attributed to the Old Gods. In-universe, Poets of the Fall also exist as themselves, being mentioned several times throughout both Alan Wake and Control.
- "My Dark Disquiet", heard in the audio room in the Research Sector.
- "War", heard on a radio in Alan Wake. The music video for this song features Ilkka Villi, reprising his role as Alan Wake.
- "The Happy Song", appearing on a TV in Alan Wake's American Nightmare.
Poets of the Fall also wrote the song "Late Goodbye" for Max Payne 2, which was based on a poem written by Sam Lake. The song title later appears in the closing dialogue for Wake's novel The Sudden Stop.
