Pneumatics is a location in the Executive Sector of the Oldest House.
Background[]
Pneumatics is a section of the Communications Department. It houses the mechanical systems of the mail tube network used by the Federal Bureau of Control in the Oldest House.
During the Hiss invasion, the Floppy Disk Object of Power was corrupted by the Hiss and ended up in Pneumatics, killing several Bureau personnel including L. Samson by launching mail tubes and other objects at them. During the main story mission Unknown Caller, Jesse Faden traverses Pneumatics and cleanses the Floppy Disk, obtaining the Launch ability. Hiss Guards, Hiss Rangers, and Hiss Demolition Experts enter the area right after she does so.

Pneumatics is a large space demarcated by six large machines, with an elevated walkway level leading to the machine which controls the Oldest House's mail tube system. From the entrance, the staircase in front leads down into the main floor space, while the path left leads into a side room that has a single secured unit. To reach the elevated walkway, the platform on the right must be reached by traversing the main floor. A Clearance Level 2-locked room contains a Collectible. The staircase here leads up to the catwalk, which can be used to reach the far north platform, where the Floppy Disk is located during Unknown Caller. During Unknown Caller, the Floppy Disk will periodically launch objects at Jesse while she is in Pneumatics.
