Dr. Emil Hartman, you have been found in breach of codes 4, 8 and 74 of the Federal Bureau of Control criminal offense system.

— Remy Denis to Emil Hartman, Dr. Hartman Interrogation

Chief Investigator Remy Denis was the interim Head of Investigations for the Federal Bureau of Control following William Kirklund's resignation in 2019.

Biography[]

Formerly a special agent in the Investigations Sector during the Bureau's investigations into the Bright Falls AWE, Denis was the one responsible for formally arresting Dr. Emil Hartman as a Class 2 Paracriminal based on his involvement in the AWE.[1][2] Sometime later, he was promoted to Chief Investigator.[3] Later surviving the now-Shaded Hartman's breach and the subsequent evacuation of the sector in 2017, Denis became the interim leader of the sector following Kirklund's resignation two years later.[4]

As interim head, Denis was directly responsible for leading the sector's investigations into various Altered World Events and other paranatural phenomena, ordering agents to begin research on criminal paranatural organizations, such as the "Blessed" organization[5] and an Altered Item black market.[6] His greatest concern was of the rising number of AWEs being detected and responded to by the Bureau, but his efforts to create a special task force to analyze the trends were hindered by the sector's extremely low staffing, with most members having died in Hartman's outbreak or subsequently transferred elsewhere. The remaining staff of the department were also growing discontent with Denis' seeming ignorance of their requests for extra manpower and a larger work space.[4]

Denis was also ordered by Director Zachariah Trench to compile records of all America Overnight sessions which had benefitted the Bureau's operations in any way.[7]
